The Offspring is an American punk rock band formed in 1984 in Garden Grove, California. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Dexter Holland, lead guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman, bassist Todd Morse, and drummer Pete Parada. The band’s early lineup also included Ron Welty as the drummer until 2003.
The Offspring gained mainstream success with their third studio album, “Smash” (1994), which is one of the best-selling independent albums of all time. It featured hits like “Come Out and Play (Keep ‘Em Separated)” and “Self Esteem,” which propelled the band to international fame and solidified their place in the punk rock scene of the 1990s.
Following the success of “Smash,” The Offspring released several more albums, including “Ixnay on the Hombre” (1997), “Americana” (1998), and “Conspiracy of One” (2000), each with their own set of hit singles such as “The Kids Aren’t Alright,” “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy),” and “Original Prankster.”
Throughout their career, The Offspring has remained active in the punk rock scene, touring extensively and releasing new music. They have continued to produce hits, including songs like “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” from their album “Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace” (2008) and “Days Go By” from the album of the same name released in 2012. The Offspring’s music often blends catchy melodies with energetic punk rock riffs, earning them a dedicated fan base and a lasting legacy in the genre.
