Godsmack is an American rock band formed in 1995 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Sully Erna, guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill, and drummer Shannon Larkin. They rose to fame in the late 1990s with their hard-hitting blend of heavy metal, alternative rock, and post-grunge.
Godsmack gained mainstream attention with their self-titled debut album in 1998, which included hits like “Whatever” and “Keep Away.” Their follow-up albums, “Awake” (2000) and “Faceless” (2003), further solidified their success, producing chart-topping singles such as “Awake,” “I Stand Alone,” and “Straight Out of Line.”
One of their most iconic songs, “I Stand Alone,” was featured in the soundtrack of the movie “The Scorpion King” and received widespread acclaim. Godsmack’s music is characterized by its heavy guitar riffs, aggressive vocals, and powerful drumming, which have earned them a loyal fan base.
